The Weylin (Williamsburg)

About the Venue:
In the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this venue was once a grand bank and underwent a major restoration, which turned it into a landmark event space.

Why It’s Unique:
The Weylin is a historic landmark space, and its design is truly exquisite. Imagine high domed ceilings, original frescoes, gold-leaf detailing, and monumental architecture, giving it a timeless and elegant feel. The venue itself is a masterpiece, and its unique beauty elevates any wedding beyond a simple party.

Planner’s Perspective:
One of our favorite moments is the couple’s entrance under the 110-foot domed ceiling. It instantly sets the tone for the entire event, and witnessing our client's joy as their vision comes to life is truly priceless.

Oheka Castle

About the Venue:
Oheka Castle is one of the most iconic venues on Long Island. It's a massive venue, coming in at more than 100,000 sq. feet, making it an excellent choice for larger weddings.

Why It’s Unique:
With its château-style architecture rooted in the 1910s, this estate is truly timeless. It offers multiple indoor and outdoor settings (ballrooms, gardens, terraces), and its high-end quality of craftsmanship, from grand staircases, ornate moldings, and magnificent lawns set it apart. At Oheka Castle, every wedding is a breathtaking experience that leaves couples and guests in awe.

Planner’s Perspective:
Our favorite portrait location is the grand staircase just before sunset, when golden hour hits the venue in the most elegant way. We also get especially excited when the guests are down in the formal gardens for an outdoor cocktail hour, waiting for the ballroom reveal.

New York Public Library

About the Venue:
The New York Public Library is a highly sought-after venue for its historic architecture and prime location in Midtown Manhattan. Featuring several different halls and forums, NYPL is designed to perfection, starring its glass, cast- iron dome, marble details, and polished chandeliers.

Why It’s Unique:
Every corner here tells a story. For couples who want the city’s cultural timelessness, this is a rare find. Plus, hosting your wedding here supports a public institution, adding both purpose and prestige.

Planner’s Perspective:
We love to book the Astor Hall for the ceremony and then flow into a reception space with an elevated cocktail hour in the rotunda. One of our favorite touches is bringing in a live string quartet for pre-dinner music in the marble foyer.

The Foundry

About the Venue:
Just across the East River from Manhattan, The Foundry offers lots of historic texture, blending exposed brick and modern elements, and it features areas like a greenhouse and a courtyard.

Why It’s Unique:
This beautifully restored 19th-century building retains its industrial soul, feauturing exposed structural beams, while opening onto a lavish courtyard and a terrace that displays the Manhattan skyline. The combination of urban edge and greenery makes The Foundry a perfect spot for couples seeking a venue that blends New York City's energy with natural beauty. The flexible floor plan allows every wedding to feel custom, also leaving the couple plenty of flexibility in designing their celebration exactly how they'd like.

Planner’s Perspective:
We love to host a cocktail hour in the courtyard, but our favorite spot has to be the greenhouse-style annex. There, we can create a lounge space filled with greenery and ambient lighting that beautifully contrasts with the exposed brick walls.

L’Orangerie at The Gramercy Park Hotel

About the Venue:
Perched above Manhattan’s Gramercy neighbourhood, this greenhouse, featuring a glass roof and a terrace space, feels like a hidden oasis in the city.

Why It’s Unique:
The greenhouse architecture brings natural light and glass walls which create a magical city wedding experience. Couples can get married under glass, able to look around at the city, and then transition to a terrace dinner with skyline views. The blend of indoor/outdoor and city/nature makes it feel elevated yet relaxed.

Planner’s Perspective:
We love to plan ceremonies under the glass canopy right at golden hour. Then, we lead guests outside to the terrace where they can enjoy the greenery and lounge area.

M&D Farm

About the Venue:
Situated in the hills of Upstate New York where the Hudson Valley meets the Catskills, this venue feels like a private garden estate. It features an 1800s farmhouse, a 1940s barn, multiple gardens with a European feel. a dining courtyard, and a pond area.

Why It’s Unique:
M&D Farm brings a sense of exclusivity and tranquility that many New York venues do not. Only a limited number of weddings are hosted each year, so the focus is on personalized experience rather than volume. It blends romantic nature and authentic historic architecture to create a wonderful space for couples who want luxe with a laid-back feeling.

Planner’s Perspective:
One of our favorite touches is creating a fireside lounge by the pond, where guests can mingle and relax later in the evening. It's a calm, intimate moment that makes the end of the celebration truly memorable.

Glasshouse Chelsea

About the Venue:
Up on the 14th and 21st floors of the Chelsea Arts Tower in Midtown Manhattan, this venue offers incredible views of the Hudson River and the city skyline.

Why It’s Unique:
Imagine floor-to-ceiling glass and expansive terraces that make this space both modern and customizable. The views alone make this venue stand out. For couples seeking a taste of New York luxury without giving up intimacy and creative flexibility, this venue is a standout choice.

Planner’s Perspective:
Our favorite moment is the sunset ceremony on the terrace, followed by cocktails in the glass-walled room where couples and guests can soak in the city lights.

Cedar Lakes Estate

About the Venue:
Set in the Hudson Valley, this estate blends mountain views and lake-front serenity, all in one package. Cedar Lakes is a private Hudson Valley estate with barns, mountaintop & lakeside ceremony sites. Plus, they have just announced a brand-new addition for 2025: The Glasshouse, a climate-controlled, glass-walled venue that accomodates up to 250 guests.

Why It’s Unique:
What sets it apart is the exclusive access to the entire property for select weddings each year, giving a “private retreat” feel rather than a typical event venue. The blend of natural backdrop with luxury accommodations and service elevates every wedding into an unforgettable experience.

Planner’s Perspective:
From our experience, wedding planning at Cedar Lakes Estate becomes curating a full weekend of celebration. We love the scenic surroundings, gourmet food, and full-service luxury lodging.

Frequently asked questions about wedding venues in New York

From our perspective, early autumn offers the best lighting, the mildest weather and fewer date-conflicts. Mid-May is also elegant and fresh. For upstate venues like M&D Farm, the outdoor feels are irresistible, but be sure to have a weather-smart backup!

What season works best for a luxury wedding in New York city or upstate?

It really comes down to the kind of experience you want. Skyline venues like Glasshouse Chelsea or Weylin bring bold city energy, while estates like Oheka or M&D Farm bring expansive grounds, gardens, and a resort-style ambiance. Consider guest flow, overnight lodging and how the experience will feel from arrival to departure!

How do I choose between a city skyline venue vs an estate/garden venue for my high-end wedding?

At luxury venues you’ll always want to check load-in/load-out windows, vendor timing restrictions, blackout dates, and whether décor/floral can stay overnight or must be removed. Also, confirm acoustics if live music is key, and whether your décor choices will need venue-specific lighting or rigging.

What hidden costs or logistical items do couples often overlook?

We prioritize personalization and guest experience rather than just the décor. For example: welcome cocktails in a less used area of the venue, custom scent/mood lighting during dinner, an unexpected transitional moment, or an intimate after-party lounge off the main space. These touches make the luxury venue feel personal and unique.

How can we make the venue feel uniquely ours rather than generic luxury?
